Kichler LED Path Light Wins Prestigious Lighting for Tomorrow Award
Based on Popularity, Company Also Expands LED Path Light Category
CLEVELAND – Oct. 11, 2010 – Kichler is proud to announce that one of its popular Design Pro LED path lights has won the coveted Lighting for Tomorrow Award, the lighting industry’s highest honor for energy-efficient solutions. Kichler’s Design Pro LED Broad Roof Path and Spread Light was recognized as a winner in the solid-sate lighting category for its innovative design; its high-quality, white-light output; and its ultra-efficient technology.
The Lighting for Tomorrow competition, sponsored by the Consortium for Energy Efficiency, the U.S. Department of Energy and the American Lighting Association, encourages manufacturers to produce a range of new lighting fixtures that use less electricity, complement home décor and provide high-quality light output. Winners were selected by a panel of nine industry experts based on color appearance, color rendering, amount and distribution of light, application efficiency, appearance and style.
Kichler’s Design Pro LED Broad Roof Path and Spread Light, available in a Textured Architectural Bronze finish, features a sleek, sculpted spindle center capped by a broad, shallow roof that diffuses and spreads LED light within a landscape. As with all of Kichler’s Design Pro LED products, the path light uses 75 percent less energy than its incandescent counterparts with a long-lasting design, offering 40,000 hours, or roughly 20 years, of light.
Based on the popularity of this and other award-winning Design Pro LED products, Kichler expands its LED landscape offerings this month with eight new Design Pro LED path lights modeled after popular incandescent styles. Available in a variety of designs and finishes to appeal to different geographic regions and homeowner tastes, the new styles range from models with pierced or floral decorative shades to ultra-contemporary designs building in sleek glass accents. The new Design Pro LED path lights also feature a limited 15 year warranty for residential applications.
These new products will be available to lighting distributors and landscape professionals for ordering later this month with additional styles slated for a 2011 release.
